Is the Gold Coast OK for families do you think? I mean apart from the theme parks, is all the other crap up there going to make it OK or not so good for my young family?

I need some advice. It's either the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast for us. All input welcome!

Jules

In my opinion, if the theme parks were on the Sunshine Coast it wouldn't even be a debate! But that's just my opinion...

If you want a more relaxed holiday, then the Sunshine Coast for me has more options.

I say, Sunshine Coast because of more interesting options for kids.

No one should feel concerned if they only have 1/3rd of their assets in the same class. On a 97% LVR mortgage and no savings you have leveraged yourself to around 30x your wealth in one asset class. No Certified Financial Planner would recommend this, but the government has promoted this with the FHOG. Funnily enough the percentage of home ownership hasn’t changed at all, just the “value” of property and the amount of people employed in the industry. The Claw: ABS data shows between 6 and 7% of residential property was vacant during the last census and this is supported with stastics from utilities such as water and electricity usage.Florida, in the midst of the US housing crisis has a vacancy rate of 16%.

If you need a good relaxing vacation for the whole family then Sunshine coast is the place for it.
