So it’s been a while since I had a good Twitter list on here and the last one I did on Travelling Twitterers was one of the most read and commented on posts ever.
As most of you know, because I bang on about it all the time, Twitter is very important to my business and my profile as a small business owner and Australia’s Family Travel Expert. So in this list, I want to know who else is twittering about my specialty topic, family travel.
I have a few to get us started:
@soultravelers3 are something of pioneers in both family travel and blogging and micro-blogging about it. You can check out their Twitter account here or their comprehensive blog here. They have been travelling the world with their daughter in tow since 2006.
@familyonbikes are a family of Mum and Dad and their twin 12 year old sons who left Alaska in 2008 on bicycles on their way down to Tierra del Fuego! Like soultravelers3, they have a blog which you can find here and their Twitter account is here.
@deliciousbaby is a Mum of 3 very young kids and she blogs and tweets about travelling with babies, toddlers and kids also. She has a content-packed blog which you can find here and her Twitter account is here.
But I know there are plenty of us, so with your help I want to build a really comprehensive list of people giving good advice and content in relation to family travel. So please leave your suggestions in the comments below, and don’t forget to add me as well if you haven’t already – you can find my Twitter account here.
And if you are new to Twitter or just want to find out more about how it all works, visit Twitter Head Start or check out my e-book, 32 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started on Twitter which now has been downloaded more than 2,600 times!

Hey Nick @littenomads is always happy to join in the fun when it comes to travelling with kids. We are a little Australian focus but really keen on travel for family across all borders..
Hi Nick,
We literally just started our new travel lifestyle lastnight. We took the redeye from Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur and arrived at 4am this morning.
We’ll be blogging and tweeting about travelling with 2 young children (2.5 & 4.5 yo) on a tight budget.
Our initial plan is to travel through Asia for the next 9-12 months and then head over to the US and Central & South America next year if all goes to plan.
After an initial false start due to an unexpected diagnosis for my wife we are now on the road less than 3 months later. Follow my tweets about our trip at @ccburns and once our blog is live we’ll post links etc to it then.
Great idea on the list and we look forward to following some new family travellers.
BTW if you are a family travelling through Asia tweet me and perhaps we can catch up for a play at the park and a drink or two
. We are really keen to connect with some other long term family travellers but also very keen to meet anyone and everyone
Kind Regards,
Colin
Wow the list is growing. Thankyou to everyone who has suggested either themselves or someone else for the list. Keep them coming! I would love this to be a great resource for family travellers.
Thanks again
Nick
I’m going to add myself – @travelinggal
Hi Nick,
I just wanted to thank you for the shout out! Great to see other fun family travelers too!
We’re very proud to be trailblazers demonstrating that open ended global travel as a family can be fun, educational and a fantastic way to bond and live large on little!
We’ve been to 4 continents, 32 countries & traveled over 175,000 miles so far (most overland) using every mode of transportation from cargo ships to camels! Our daughter was 5 when we began and now she is 9 & has gotten the best education in the world!
We travel the world and live on 23 US dollars a day per person and could do it on less, but we enjoy luxury (we’ve spent most of our time in Europe so far, but Asia and gaining total fluency in Mandarin Chinese is next!).
